My New Goal!! And how my last one went!!

So my goal to cook everyday went really well! i really enjoyed it! I am so proud of myself for doing it!! I will keep that one going! Also I have a new goal... I want to run in a marathon!! I know I can do it! I want to do it I have a plan and I am going to get there! I think Annie will do it with me! This is something I have always seen people do and thought that I would never be able to do it. Last week as I was sitting and watching the biggest loser I thought why not? Why can't I do it? there is NO reason that I cant! This year I am going to try to do things that I have never done and that I never thought I could or would do! I have a plan and I need to stick to it! I think I want to start out with a half marathon and then I will work my way up to a full marathon!! I need to do this for me! I will let you know how this one goes!

my goal for the week!!

Sadly I have come to depend too much on frozen food from costco... I eat something from my freezer everyday and I hardly ever cook anymore which is something I LOVE to do!! therefore I have made a goal starting today I am not going to just heat up a frozen burrito in the microwave I am actually going to cook dinners for a whole week and make enough leftover for lunch the next day!!! (which is no small amount of food if you have ever seen my husband eat!!) today for dinner I made spaghetti but not with just any noodles I made homemade egg yolkless noodles which are healthier than normal noodles!! When I was younger I used to LOVE making noodles I still do! My favorite present from my wedding was the pasta maker it was from the judge who made it possible for us to get married. when we first got married every sunday I made noodles then it slowed down to maybe once a month until now it has been about 6 or 7 months since i have made them I love the taste and the texture of them they are more filling than store bought noodles and They make REALLY good chicken soup!!
Well that is my goal I will let you know how it goes!!!
p.s. I am open to trying new recipes if you have any good ones I would love to try them!!

Dutch vs. My Cake

So last Saturday I was baking a birthday cake for Dallin it was 4 layers so I put the cakes on the kitchen table while I was making the filling dutch was running around I thought someone was watching him so i went on making my cake. A few minutes later dutch comes walking in with what looked like a piece of brownie. I looked at him and asked him where he got the brownie. all of the sudden it hit me that it was a piece of my cake!!! I gasped as my hands shot up to cover my mouth (I did NOT cry contrary to what my mom says) mom asked me what was wrong and i pointed to the bottom layer of my cake and then I just started Laughing we took the piece and stuck it back in the cake and I assembled and frosted the cake... The cake was REALLY good and we have no idea who got Dutchs piece of cake but it was REALLY funny!! He is so cute I am so glad pam is moving here so I can see him more he was really fun!!

Our very eventful week!!

This has been an interesting week in our home! Tuesday morning Dallin called to tell me he had just had an accident so we don't have a car for now and we have no idea when it will be fixed or what is wrong with it. we are borrowing Dallins moms car until we can get ours fixed! then later that day we got a call that Dallins grandpa wasn't doing well Dallin was able to go and see him on tuesday afternoon while he was in provo picking up his moms car. Later that night we recieved word that grandpa walker had passed away. we will miss him so much he was such a wonderful person I know he is so happy to be reunited with his wife and his son (my father-in-law) those of us who are left behind will miss him. Wednesday I had to get the H1N1 flu shot which just hurt!! then thursday was Dallins 25th Birthday! and tonight we have the Viewing and tomorrow is the funeral. It has been a REALLY long week! On the brighter side on Sunday I will have known Dallin for 2 years!! It has been a wonderful, eventful, and fun 2 years! My life has changed so much in the past 2 years! I love Dallin so much he is my best friend and i can't imagine my life without him!

The Real Santa!!

Today I met the REAL Santa he came to where I work! I know he is the real Santa not just because he has a real long white beard but because he as a person represents what I think christmas is! Penny told me this story about him and it changed my whole attitude towards the chaos that was this afternoon! One year a mom came up to penny and told her that she REALLY did have the REAL Santa! when penny asked how this mom knew he was the real one the mom told penny this story... One year at christmastime he was running the apartments that she lived in and she was behind on her rent and knew that she couldn't make the next month she was afraid that she and her children would be evicted right before christmas, instead of evicting her he forgave her of her debt and allowed her to live there for 2 months rent free until she was back on her feet! this story really touched me i think that is exactly what santa would do! but I KNOW that this is what Christ would do! and isn't he the reason that we celebrate christmas? isn't this what christmas is all about?
