Bad Semester
Right now I think of our life in terms of semesters and this one has been the worst ever. I am so glad it is almost over this semester has included 4 trips to the ER, numerous sick days, a whole lot of doctors visits, the death and funeral of Dallins mom, and now the death of one of Dallins friends. Dallin has been really shaken up by this latest news on Tuesday his friend Holly was doing a school project which involved her base jumping in Provo when she finished the project she decided to base jump one more time she was really experienced so this was supposed to be an easy jump and she had already done it a couple of times that day but her parachute malfunctioned on this last jump when the emergency crews arrived she was in critical condition her condition quickly grew worse and she passed away. Dallin and her sat together in their premed classes and he is the one who encouraged her to become a TA for the same class that he TAs for. I have heard a lot about her over the years and these past couple of days have been really hard for Dallin. We are really anxious for this semester to be over.

My Surgery
At 2 am on Sunday morning Dallin took me to the emergency room because i was in extreme pain and I was really sick I couldn't keep anything down! They were giving me a ton of morphine and zofran through my iv but I still couldn't keep half of a saltine cracker down. So they decided to keep me in the hospital. The doctor decided that something needed to change because I was too sick. So at 12:30 yesterday I went into surgery they were able to remove the kidney stone but my kidneys were very infected and my left ureter (the tube that connects the kidney to the bladder) was swollen shut so they had to put a stint in to keep that tube open so that the kidneys can clear out the infection. which means I am on bed rest for TWO WEEKS!! they originally said 5 days but that has now changed to two weeks! I am half way through the first day and I am already going crazy! I am still in a lot of pain but it is a different kind of pain. If anyone has any movie or book suggestions let me know! I am seriously open to suggestions! I am bored!!

Update
I have a Kidney Stone And so I have been in a lot of pain It started on October 10th and then I was feeling a lot better so on Tuesday of this week Pam, Dutch, Dane and I went out to lunch at a really yummy restaurant and I was still feeling fine until about 3 o'clock Wednesday morning I woke up in extreme pain I thought it was food poisoning or something like that but when it kept getting worse and worse I realized it was the same thing I had been experiencing a week earlier. So I knew it was a kidney stone. The pain got so bad that I was throwing up because I hurt so bad!! I have a really high pain tolerance so that is really unusual for me. I called my doctor at 9 that morning and they asked if I could get there by 9:15 I said yes and I jumped in my car and drove there (I had wanted to find someone to drive me but I didn't have time and they had to rearrange the doctors schedule to fit me in because I was an emergency so i didn't want to miss that appointment) When I got there my doctor asked if I had driven myself he was surprised when I said yes and he told me that I either needed to find someone to come and take me to the emergency room or they were going to call an ambulance. I called mommy because she was in town that day. Dr. Clark gave me a shot for pain and some nausea medicine. I was finally able to relax a bit and mommy came to get me. Dr. Clark had already called the Emergency Room to let them know I was coming so when I got there they were waiting for me so I got to go right back. They started me on an IV because I was really dehydrated. And they did a CT scan which was actually pretty fun because at that point the Morphine that the hospital gave me had kicked in so I was feeling pretty good! I still hurt but nothing like I had been earlier. The urologist who was on call came to see me. and he set up an appointment for me. I am required to take a Medical Leave of Absence so that is what I am doing just trying to rest and feel better. I have been told so many times that this is worse than Labor and I believe it I am in so much pain I can't stand it! I would hope Labor is not this bad I have never described my pain as a 10 on the pain scale but on Wednesday I was so far past a ten! SO that is about the only thing happening in my life right now!!

Life has had its ups and downs lately! I am now certified as a Tele Tech so basically I sit in a room and watch 3 moniters with 18 patients heart rates on each one and when I see a problem I pull it up on the fourth computer screen and measure out the rhythm to see whats going on and I alert the nurses of any significant changes! I like it so far! I still work an the floor as a cna but now I do both so my shifts are split between tele tech and cna! It is a nice break and I get paid more to do it which is nice! and my boss called today to tell me she is going to put me on tele tomorrow so I don't have to work on the floor on my birthday! And she wanted to know if I would be willing to give up most of my weekend shifts which I would be ok with!
I woke up this morning to snow here is the view out my window right now!! it has stopped
snowing here now it is only in the mountains!
It is my birthday tomorrow Dallin and I are going out to dinner tonight I am so excited I love going out to eat!
On monday I finally got around to decorating my bathroom it is so cute! I found on pinterest (I love pinterest) an idea to cover a magnet board with fabric and then stck magnets on the back of your makeup and it makes a good storage place so I did that and it turned out SO cute then I had leftover fabric so i made curtains to match! Here are pictures! It turned out so cute and I finally have a good organized place to store my makeup!

It has been a rough month...
In the beginning of august my mother in law went to see her cancer doctor for her yearly exam. Her cancer has been in remission for 4 years. she had breast cancer it is very rare for breast cancer to spread so I don't think any of us were too worried. She was told that her cancer had relapsed she was very optimistic and was ready to take it on and do what needed to be done. Less than 2 weeks later she went into the ER (it was a comfort to her and to all of us to know that Annie was there that night. She told me that she felt better knowing Annie was there helping her!) because she couldn't keep anything down at that point she still hadn't started Chemo. She stayed in the hospital for a week they did a CT scan while she was there and discovered that the cancer was in her bones, stomach, liver, kidneys, lungs and other places as well. she was retaining alot of fluid because of her liver being affected. on monday of this week she went to her doctor to finally start her chemo when she got there the doctor called her into his office and told her that her kidneys and liver had begun to shut down and she had 2 months left to live. At that point she gave up on thursday Dallin got a call telling us to come now we grabbed what we could and rushed to Orem she was in bad shape it was like she had aged 20 years in that week. We stayed with her until late into the night we went to my parents house to try to get some sleep at 7 that morning we got another call and we rushed back over to Mom Walkers house (I have never gotten dressed that fast in my life!!) That was the beginning of the longest day of my life. It was such a blur the only way we could describe it was that we were on a train and we could not slow down! I felt dazed all day people would come and go all day with each person it felt like a totally new day. It felt like we lived at least a week in that one day. I don't remember who was even there I just remember people. We were by her side as much as possible that day people would come and tell us to eat or drink. We were just forgetting about ourselves. at around 1 Dallin gave her a blessing I have never heard a more beautiful blessing. I watched her as the day progressed and the signs of death took over. at about 4 I noticed that it was almost time the hospice nurse who had been in and out all day came in and checked and said we were close. at 5:10 she took her last breath that was recorded as the official time of death. How Joyful her reunion with her husband and her child must be she is home with her Heavenly Father along with the family and friends who preceded her in death. The pain is gone and she is home. We are mourning the loss of this beautiful woman she will be missed until that great day that we too can be reunited with her. I feel like I have physically been beaten up. My whole body hurts! On monday we had 2 months and then less than a week later she was gone. I have been truly blessed to have her in my life! I know that everyone who has known her feels the same she NEVER spoke badly of anyone. She is a perfect example of christ like love. We miss her so much!
I am sorry if my rambling makes no sense my brain is not functioning well right now!
